Client: DEPTHSKINS Design Studio
Project: DEPTHSKINS' 22 Branding Ad Application: Origami, Pencil Sketching, Photography, Photoshop, Illustrator. I worked out the project into a series. Basically, the idea was inspired by the DEPTHSKINS' logo. The first ad works as teaser. Yes, the plain paper is a task, the rest of the ads are origami, which means solutions. I didn't play much with typography, just let the visual tells the story with a little slogan "You have a piece of paper? We have a list of ideas." Well, I sketch the background instead of using graphics, simply because both sketching and origami are paper works, they could be well marrinated. --------------------------------------- Updated 24.6.07 - background illustration - logo - website Daily DeviationGiven 2008-11-22DEPTHSKINS' 22 Branding Ad by ~yienkeat is an excelent example of advirtising. The concept is original, creative and bring us a new vision in advertising. The symbiosis with traditional details and origamis is perfect. You should take a piece of paper to his gallery because he has fantastic ideas. (Featured by ^NunoDias) |

And the only one I have is that you should make the logo smaller and take out the type. The type doesn't have to be in there. This logo was designed specifically so it could be able to stand alone. Also, I do allow the type to be placed at the site when the logo goes extremely small. I'm just letting you know that. As is, make it smaller and take out 'DEPTHSKINS DESIGN STUDIO'
My Art Director had a look at this and he really liked the concept. His only problem is that he's seen the orgami idea before but he thinks you played it well and your concept is strong.
As for me, AND it is I who has the final say
I think it's freakin' brilliant. What I'm digging a whole lot is the copy. It really got me. I'm like...whoa...pretty strong and nicely used with the concept.
I also love the mixture of illustration and photography. Where did you get it? Or did you do the photography yourself? If so, I'm even more impressed but if not, still cool.
My favourite is the boat. The last 2 felt somewhat redundant with the sky though they're both effective. This gives some really good ideas but requires a lot more work.
I love it man. Thanks for the entry.
